Rules

1. Nominations

  1. The nomination of Zwitter users will be open from 10:00hrs Tuesday, 2nd May 2023 until 19:00hrs Sunday, 14th May 2023.
  2. During the nomination period any member of the public can nominate a Twitter user who's primary content is entertaining and heavily focused on Zimbabwe. You are able to nominate yourself.
  3. Any person who is presently, previously or currently campaigning for public office of a political nature is not eligible to be nominated.
  4. Nominations have to be made via the nominations page on the Zwitter Choice website in order to count.
  5. Once the organisers of the Zwitter People's Choice Awards accept a nomination other members of the public will be able to second the nomination via the nominations page on the Zwitter Choice website.

2. Entry

  1. Nomination does not automatically entitle the user an entry into the competition. After careful assessment by the organisers of the Zwitter People's Choice Awards the accounts that have been chosen to compete from those nominated will be announced on Monday, 22nd May 2023 at 14:00hrs.
  2. Entry is at the discretion of the Zwitter People's Choice Awards organisers and no discussion will be entered into.

3. Withdrawal

  1. If you have been nominated but do not wish to compete you can withdraw yourself from the competition at any stage by contacting us via our Twitter handle or the contact page on this website. If you withdraw before voting starts we will replace you with a new competitor from those nominated. If you withdraw once the voting has started you will forfeit your next match and your competitor will proceed to the next round.

4. Number of Competitors

  1. The number of competitors is limited to 64 to ensure that the competition is manageable and not overwhelming.

5. Random match draw

  1. Prior to the start of each round the organisers of the Zwitter People's Choice Awards will conduct a random draw to determine the line up of matches for that round. This draw will be conduct be a random generator at https://www.randomresult.com/tournament.php The results from each draw will be published for transparency.

6. Online Voting

  1. The voting process will be conducted on the Zwitter Choice website.
  2. In order to vote members of the public will have to register on the Zwitter Choice website.
  3. A user can vote once every 24 hours. In other words you can vote for the same person day after day so long as a 24 hour time period has elapsed since your last vote.
  4. Voting will open promptly at 10:00hrs on the Tuesday of the current round and finish promptly at 19:00hrs of the next Sunday. Votes cast before or after the voting window will be discarded.

7. Head-to-Head Voting

  1. The competitors will go head to head in online voting by the public. The winners of each round will be those with the most valid votes. The loser will be knocked out of the competition.

8. Overall Winner Selection

  1. The user who receives the highest number of valid votes in the final round will be deemed the winner of the competition. The overall winner will be crowned Zwitter Personality 2023.

9. Disputes and disqualification

  1. If you have a dispute about any untoward voting practices you can submit such to the organisers of the Zwitter People's Choice Awards via our Twitter handle or via the contact page on the Zwitter Choice website.
  2. Any competitor who is found to have benefited from fraudulent voting, whether knowingly or not, will be disqualified immediately and their latest result will be considered null and void and their competitor will win that round and proceed.
  3. The decision of the Zwitter People's Choice Awards organisers in any dispute is final and discussion will not be entered into.

10. Account suspension

  1. In the event that a competitor's Twitter account is suspended by Twitter during the competition and they are unable to compete their current or next match will be forfeited and they will be knocked out of the competition.

11. Liability Release

  1. It is expressly understood that all registered participants (the “Participants”) participate in the Zwitter People's Choice Awards (the Awards) at their own risk. The Participants hereby indemnify and agree to save harmless the Awards, Zwitter People's Choice Awards, and its respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, partners, members, and/or attorneys (collectively the “Awards Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all claims that arise from or in connection with any negligent act or omission of the Awards Indemnified Parties. All persons connected directly or indirectly with the operation of the Zwitter People's Choice Awards whether individual or corporation, shall have no liability whatsoever for any special, incidental, consequential, punitive, exemplary and/or any other damage including without limitation, any damages arising from libel, slander, loss, damage, negligence, harm, injury or death. The Zwitter People's Choice Awards organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any person. Participants specifically agree and consent to the use of any photograph in which they appear, or audio recording, by the Awards for any purpose whatsoever including, but not limited to, resale, advertising and promotional material without compensation or restriction of any kind. This Liability Release shall be binding upon the Participants and their respective heirs, personal representatives, successors and assigns. By competing in the Zwitter People's Choice Awards Participants acknowledge that they have read the rules and the Liability Release and are bound by same.

By following these rules, the Zwitter People's Choice Awards competition will be fair, transparent, and accessible to the public. It will also ensure that the winner truly represents the people's choice.
